Haiti Telehealth

A fairer alternative to a strained hospital system

Haiti Telehealth is an initiative of the 11th Department Health Sector — a flexible network of care built to reach the people our hospitals struggle to serve.

Our mission

Increase access to comprehensive, quality care for every Haitian

In Haiti, access to care has long been limited by an over-centralized system, long waits, lost records, and a deepening security crisis that cuts whole communities off from hospitals. We exist to close that gap — bringing the doctor to the patient through telemedicine, home care, and a connected network of pharmacies, labs and hospitals.

Why it matters

The reality we're responding to

An over-centralized system

Before 2010, nearly half the population had no access to care. The earthquake damaged hospitals and deepened the strain that families still feel today.

A geographic divide

The ongoing crisis has isolated neighborhoods and regions — so-called "lost territories" that residents must cross just to reach a hospital.

The rise of chronic disease

Hypertension, diabetes and degenerative conditions now demand regular follow-up — exactly the kind of ongoing care telemedicine does best.

General objectives
  • Improve the health of the Haitian population
  • Increase access to comprehensive, quality care
  • Promote family and preventive medicine
Specific objectives
  • Help the elderly & those with reduced mobility
Quality care without travel — from the comfort of home.
  • Reach residents near isolated areas
For whom frequent travel for check-ups would be unlikely.
Our model of care

One patient, three paths to care

A flexible network that adapts to each person's physical and geographic situation — any path can evolve into another as needs change.

Remote consultation

Using the latest information and communication technologies to consult doctors from anywhere.

Home care

For elderly and disabled patients, or anyone for whom travel to a hospital is unlikely.

Hospital care

Solid partnerships with health institutions ensure continuity of care when in-person treatment is needed.
